Women who Wine Q2
I was lucky enough to host Women who Wine Q2 before it got too hot (hopefully we will do one a quarter - wink wink). It was so fun to combine my networking gals and my close friends in one event.
Here was the run down!
There were 8 wines and each had a chip and a candy pairing.
I made fun boxes so we could keep track of what was what for each pairing. I tried to exclude the typical wines we all know and love like Chardonnay & Cabs and go more towards weird & wacky.
I searched pinterest, local wine shops & a few of the sommelier gals on IG to create the list. Some were winners & some were not but it was really fun to try stuff out of our comfort zones.
(my personal opinion, was that I liked most of the wines but not with the food... but that was just my take.)
Winning Wine & Some Takeways
The overall crowd favorite was the Gruet and the least favorite of our group tied Pinot Gris and the Vinh Verde.
The red blend by The Dirty Pure Project was 10x better after we aerated it.
The lambrusca is a sparkling red that I will definitely try again with a meal. It think it will be a really fun red for summer.
needless to SAY, we had fun doing what we all love to do... drinks wine & enjoy good company!
